Revealing the Conceptually Operative
HARVEST, Tuscon Arizona
Our urban areas must integrate with our agriculture system. The way we live and
consume poses a severe threat to our health and our ecosystem’s health, as has been
increasingly evident in recent decades. In addition, we are being forced by climate change
to reconsider our way of life and integrate agriculture once more into our urban fabric.
the proposed building appeals to all of our senses and is designed in order to reconnect with
nature and landscape. Reintroducing food production into daily life will democratize the food
system and promote food security in a modern city such as Tuscon, Arizona. The introduction
of farming and the growth through the landscape allows a healthy relationship between the
community and architecture. The site plan showcases four different hatch; each hatch represents
a season that blooms crops that will be consumed in the farmer’s market and the cafe.
